School friends who have gone from selling stones on the beach are now

School friends who have gone from selling stones on the beach are now expanding their Amazon prep business and creating new job opportunities in Suffolk.

Fred Benfield, 29, and Arthur Horrigan, 29, opened their dream company, We Prep FBA, four years ago and are now moving its two Ipswich warehouses into a bigger one in Stowmarket.

The co-owners, who live in Felixstowe and Trimley, started their first business together at the age of seven.

Mr Benfield said: "We originally started selling stones on the seaside. Then we went to school together all the way up to high school.

"After that, we went to university and started businesses separately. Fortunately, we have come together and created We Prep FBA.

"We opened the company in February 2019 on my dining room table.

"After getting our first customers, we took on a warehouse to start the business.

"At that time, we were both running other businesses from our kitchen tables, including e-commerce businesses where we were selling products on Amazon.

"Then, off the back of that, we decided to work together on a different project that solves the services of fulfillment and logistics, an FBA prep for small to medium-sized businesses.

"People who buy products from Amazon generally tend to buy from businesses that are small or medium, rather than buy directly from Amazon.

"Our company specialises in the service for those businesses. We offer fulfillment, FBA prep, international and domestic shipping, as well as bundling and kitting services.

"We’ve grown as a business to about 30 staff over two warehouses in Ipswich."

The company will soon be moving to its new, bigger warehouse in Stowmarket, creating about 10 to 15 new job positions over the next year or so.

Mr Benfield said that he feels "very excited" to expand the business, as the owners have been looking for a new site for the last two years.
